Purpose and fitment

The presented lamp is designed for installation in the rear of the vehicle, on the left side, within the tailgate area. The design corresponds to the factory solution used in the Volkswagen Golf 5G generation, ensuring that the correct arrangement of lighting functions and compatibility with the original mounting and electrical harness are maintained. Proper fitment to the bodywork allows for maintaining a uniform stylistic line and correct lighting geometry, which is important for both the safety and aesthetics of the vehicle.

Function in the lighting system

As an element from the Rear lights and brake lights group, this lamp is responsible for the correct signaling of the vehicle's presence on the road and works in conjunction with the outer part of the rear lamp. The inner module in the tailgate complements the outer segment, creating a cohesive system of position and brake lights, consistent with the factory Volkswagen configuration. A properly functioning rear lamp is important for:

• clear braking signaling for vehicles behind,
• maintaining lighting parameters required by regulations,
• avoiding errors in the vehicle's light control system.

Characteristics of the used component

The offered component is in a used condition, which allows for an economical replacement of a damaged lamp while maintaining the original build quality. A used OEM component usually fits better into the overall visual condition of the vehicle than a new aftermarket part, which is important for local body repairs. Choosing an original, used rear lamp reduces the risk of fitment issues, leaks, or incorrect light distribution, which are typical for some lower-quality replacements.

Application in service and repairs

This type of lamp is often used for:

• repairs after collisions involving the rear of the vehicle,
• replacing components after mechanical damage or lens cracks,
• restoring full functionality of the lighting system after leaks and moisture ingress in the lamp. Thanks to the factory design, installation proceeds in a manner similar to the manufacturer's service procedures, which facilitates work for workshops and reduces vehicle downtime.
