Application and vehicle function

The offered glass is dedicated to the left side mirror in Audi Q5 8R and Audi Q7 4L models equipped with power folding and auto-dimming functions. The component works with the factory adjustment and heating system, ensuring a clear field of view in various weather conditions and driving comfort during both day and night. By maintaining the original geometry and curvature of the glass, the mirror ensures accurate distance representation and minimizes image distortion, which is crucial for maneuvering, changing lanes, and parking.

Key technical features

The mirror glass belongs to the group of components responsible for visibility and safety, which is why its functional properties are significant:

• integration with the factory heating system, facilitating the evaporation and defrosting of the surface,
• compatibility with the power-folding mirror mechanism,
• auto-dimming function, reducing glare from the headlights of vehicles behind you,
• dedicated fitment for the driver's side mirror housing. This combination of functions makes the original Audi mirror glass a solution consistent with the factory installation, requiring no adaptation or wiring modifications.

Why choose original Audi mirror glass

For components responsible for visibility, using a used OEM component from a reliable source is often more beneficial than installing a cheap replacement. The original glass maintains compatibility with the vehicle's electronics, as well as the operating parameters of comfort and safety systems. This translates into stable heating performance, correct auto-dimming response, and proper fitment to the mirror body. If you are considering when a used factory component is a reasonable choice compared to a new replacement, our blog article may be helpful: why a used factory part is often the most cost-effective solution for older cars.

Condition and installation aspects

The offered mirror glass is in used condition, meaning it has been removed from a vehicle and verified for further use. This type of component is typically installed in place of damaged glass via clips or the appropriate mounting system provided by the manufacturer, with caution taken when connecting the heating and auto-dimming power wires. During replacement, it is worth paying attention to the correct seating of the glass in the mirror body to avoid vibrations and ensure a stable image while driving.
