Application and function in the vehicle

The presented VW Volkswagen Caddy 2K Wing Mirror Housing Base Right O/S is responsible for a stable connection between the mirror and the door panel, as well as the correct positioning of the entire assembly relative to the bodywork. The element is mounted on the right side of the vehicle, which is particularly important in cars operated in left-hand traffic, where the right mirror plays a key role in monitoring the blind spot. The black color of the housing makes it easy to match most equipment configurations – the part can function both as a final element and as a base for further finishing (e.g., painting the decorative cover). The construction provided by the manufacturer ensures adequate rigidity, which translates into reduced mirror vibration while driving.

Construction, color, and fitment

The mirror base has been designed as a load-bearing element of the wing mirror assembly, with appropriately shaped mounting points for the door and space for further mirror components. The black surface blends well with factory door moldings and seals, and does not require immediate painting, which is beneficial for quick maintenance repairs. As a part from the Wing Mirrors group, the element works with other components of the mirror assembly, such as the glass, adjustment mechanism, or turn signal (if present in the vehicle's configuration). Proper fitment with the door panel reduces the risk of leaks and unwanted wind noise at higher speeds.

Product characteristics and condition

The offered mirror base housing is a dismantled part, which means it is a used component that retains the functionality required for further operation. For many users and workshops, this is a reasonable economic choice, allowing for vehicle repair using an original Volkswagen structural element. In practice, installing such a base allows for restoring the correct position of the mirror, which has a direct impact on driving safety and the comfort of daily vehicle use. Original Volkswagen origin promotes the maintenance of factory assembly clearances and the correct geometry of the entire assembly.

Benefits of using an original mirror base

• Better fit to the door and other body elements compared to aftermarket replacements.
• Stable mirror mounting, reducing vibration and improving visibility.
• Consistent black color, facilitating integration with the factory finish.
• Possibility of use in professional body and paint repairs. By using this base, you can orderly restore the factory mirror configuration, which is important both for post-accident repairs and when replacing worn-out maintenance parts. If you are planning a comprehensive repair or upgrade of the side body area in your Volkswagen and need other elements from the same group, such as housings, mirror glasses, or complete mirror assemblies, check the available parts in the Volkswagen Wing Mirrors category.
