Purpose and function in the dashboard

The presented storage compartment is a component from the Dashboard group, responsible for convenient and secure storage of items in the front part of the cabin. The design, matched to the shape of the first-generation Auris dashboard, allows for maintaining the original lines of the cockpit without the need for modifications or adaptations. This element serves several key functional purposes:

• provides a protected space for vehicle documents and owner's manuals,
• limits the movement of small items while driving,
• supports maintaining order in the front part of the interior,
• maintains visual consistency with other dashboard panels.

Construction and fit for the Toyota Auris Mk1 interior

The storage compartment has been designed as an integral part of the dashboard, with a properly shaped front and housing. The geometry of the mounts and the shape of the edges are adapted to the factory mounting points, which facilitates the replacement of a damaged or worn element without interfering with the cockpit structure. This solution allows for:

• preserving the original stylistic lines of the interior,
• proper adhesion to adjacent dashboard panels,
• reducing unwanted play and rattles while driving.

Characteristics of the original Toyota part

As a Toyota brand component, the storage compartment meets the manufacturer's factory requirements regarding dimensions, geometry, and the operation of the opening mechanism. The original construction facilitates trouble-free installation in place of the factory component, without the need for adjustments or modifications. In practice, this means:

• compatibility with factory hinges and latches,
• proper cooperation with other dashboard elements,
• consistent appearance of the surface and panel division lines.

Condition of the item and service application

The offered storage compartment comes from the used parts category, which makes it an attractive solution for post-accident repairs, replacing a damaged panel, or restoring the interior to a condition close to factory-new. This type of component is often used in body and paint shops as well as for comprehensive cockpit renovations. Choosing an original used part allows for cost reduction compared to a new part, while maintaining proper fit and functionality. It is a practical solution for both workshops and users servicing their cars themselves.
