Purpose and function of the centre console panel

The presented panel is part of the Console parts group, responsible for the aesthetic and functional finishing of the central cockpit area in the Audi A8 / S8 D3. The component integrates the storage area and the trim strip, which allows for maintaining a consistent stylistic line of the dashboard and convenient access to the utility space. The panel performs several key roles in the vehicle:

• ensures stable mounting of the storage compartment in the centre console,
• masks structural and mounting elements, improving the visual perception of the interior,
• maintains the factory geometry and lines of the cockpit,
• enables the correct operation of the storage compartment opening and closing mechanism (depending on the vehicle configuration).

Original origin and fitment for Audi A8 / S8 D3

As a component from the original Audi line, the centre console panel is designed for the specific body and interior of the D3 generation. This means maintaining:

• correct mounting points to the console structure,
• factory-compliant shapes and contours,
• proper geometry relative to the centre tunnel and dashboard. Thanks to this, the installation is predictable, without the need for modifications or forced fitting. This is particularly important for post-accident repairs, replacing a damaged storage compartment, or restoring the interior to a condition close to factory specifications.

Characteristics of the used component

The panel comes from the category of used interior components, which in practice means it has already been used in a vehicle. This type of part is a good choice for:

• economical repair of a damaged centre console,
• replacing missing elements after equipment removal,
• restoring the completeness of the cockpit after modifications. A used original element retains its factory construction and compatibility, while allowing for cost savings compared to new components. This is a practical solution for workshops, services specializing in Audi, and users completing the interior themselves.

Support for selection by OEM and replacement numbers

The selection of the correct centre console panel for the Audi A8 / S8 D3 should always be verified based on the OEM number and associated replacement numbers. This allows you to avoid installation problems and ensures compatibility with the specific interior equipment version. If you want to streamline the process of selecting parts by numbers, it is worth using the practical tips included in the article: Online parts shopping without risk – 5 proven ways to verify component compatibility using OEM numbers and paint codes.
