Purpose and function of the component

The described water trim strip is dedicated to Audi A3 and S3 8P generation models and is mounted on the right side of the body. Its task is to seal and provide an aesthetic finish to the contact point between the side window and the door panel, as well as to limit the ingress of water and contaminants into the interior of the door. Thanks to its precise profile and factory fit, the strip works in conjunction with the window and seals, which helps reduce the risk of unwanted wind noise and improves the overall refinement of the bodywork.

Exterior appearance and color matching

The element is finished in Brilliant Black Metallic Y9B, which allows for consistent matching with the factory body paint in this shade. The metallic black gives the doors a subtle, elegant character and blends well with both standard versions and the sporty S3. The strip, as part of the Protective and decorative strips group, also serves a visual function – it masks the structural edges of the door, streamlines the side line of the body, and helps restore the original look of the vehicle after body and paint repairs.

Benefits of using an original Audi strip

Using an original Audi component translates into several practical advantages:

• factory fit for the door and window on the right side,
• maintenance of the correct body line and gaps between elements,
• color consistency with the Brilliant Black Metallic Y9B paint,
• proper water drainage from the side window surface. The product is offered as a used original part, which allows for economical repair while maintaining the proper standard of workmanship and compatibility with the Audi A3 / S3 8P door structure.

Application in body repairs and restoration

The right-side door water trim strip is suitable both for the local replacement of a damaged element and for broader restoration work on the side of the body. It is particularly useful after bodywork repairs, door or window replacement, when it is necessary to restore proper fitment and sealing. If you are planning a comprehensive repair or upgrade of the side body area in your Audi and need other elements from the same group, such as covers, overlays, or additional strips, check the available parts in the Audi protective and decorative strips category.

How to safely use used body components

When choosing used body components, it is worth paying attention to the condition of the paint surface, the integrity of the mounts, and the overall geometry of the element. Practical tips on evaluating used sub-assemblies and optimizing repair costs can be helpful – you will find them in the article on car repairs using used parts, which discusses, among other things, the selection of body elements and the scope of work during their installation.
